A Proof of... Concept

Good morning!

Where to start? I suppose with a compulsive need to inundate myself with fresh new artworks / artists EVERY SINGLE MORNING. Any artist will tell you that discovering new artists (and being discovered by) is part of what we live for and, well, we all know that art is best when shared. It drives us, it inspires us, and our peers continually push us to improve our craft. So why not afford the time to pore over it a little each day?

For starters, finding a definitive news source on Concept Art is more difficult than one might imagine. Surely, there are plenty of great blogs out there, but I have found that they either A) Do not consistently update with industry news, B) do not properly credit artists/artwork, or C) tend to skew to far into one arena (e.g. film over movies over books, etc.)

With that in mind, I have decided to attempt to rectify this with A Novel Concept...Each day, I will share a selection of artwork that I found of note, in the hopes that inspires at least one other individual. I’d also like to highlight a fresh artist portfolio a few times a week (we do work for exposure, after all, ha). Most importantly, I’d like to highly encourage sharing; meaning, if you have work you’d like shown, or something you just thought others should see, please send it my way!

Ultimately, my goal is to create a “one-stop-shop” for all things concept art. A place where you can stay up-to-date on the industry happenings, lose yourself in the art of the new Assassin’s Creed game, or learn tips & tricks from fellow artists.

So, without further ado, here is the first edition of A Novel Concept... :
